Team Management
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Event Route (for example, Iditarod Trail – North for WorldWideIDEA’s Idita-Read)
will be automatically available to every team member when that event starts. Please do not add or
purchase the route separately.
Below is a brief step-by-step outline of Team Management. Please also see our printable
Team Manager Guide,
which includes helpful screenshots.
-
After your Event Registration Administrator completes the Event Registration form with
your email included as a Team Manager, you will automatically receive an email notice
to that address. Open the email and click the link that will take you online to the
Event Authorization page. If you have not already signed up for a Read A Route account,
then do so now by clicking the Sign Up link.
-
Complete and submit the Sign Up form to create an account. Once your account is created,
you will be prompted to sign in.
- On your Dashboard, click the My Teams link.
- On your My Teams page, click to +Create Team.
-
Create a Team by typing in their name. You can edit this at any time. If you want to
assign this team to participate in an Event, then in the Event Registrations section,
make sure the appropriate checkbox is marked.
-
After successfully creating a Team, you will automatically be returned to the My Teams
page. Click the icon to Manage Team Members.
- To build the roster for you team, click to +Add Team Member.
-
Complete and submit the form to add a reader to this team roster. Provide a Username and
Password to allow this member to sign in and manage their own reading minutes. Remember
to record this sign-in information and keep in secure location, as needed. If desired,
individual members can be unregistered from participating in events, even if the Team is
registered for that event.
NOTE: Only the reader’s FIRST NAME + LAST
NAME INITIAL will be displayed to the public to protect the reader’s privacy.
-
Return to the My Teams tools at any time to manage Teams and their Members, as needed.
The cap on the number of members is tied to the total number of readers paid for
during the Event Registration process. If more than one Team Manager was included on that
registration, then it is important to coordinate with the other managers to ensure fair
or previously agreed upon distribution.
Try out how the system works for yourself or assign teams some pre-event training on a
free route, Lewis & Clark Trail.
Event Registration
Any individual or group can register for an event. Here are some key points to be aware of when registering:
- Complete the Event Registration Form:
-
Input the number of TOTAL readers your entire group expects to participate. The fee is based on the number
of readers (like license "seats") and this per-reader fee decreases as group number increases.
-
List the EMAIL addresses for every Team Manager (teacher or other group leader) you wish to be able to use
the reader allowances. Every Team Manager can create as many teams as they want with one or more members,
as desired. When all of the "seats" are used, if more need to be added, please contact us at
support@readaroute.com
or phone us at 406.542.3334 (MST).
-
Payment Methods include most major credit cards, Check, or Purchase Order (PO). If paying by Check or PO,
then please complete and submit the registration form. The Contact person indicated on the registration
will receive an automatic email notice providing the total to be paid, etc. Use this to begin processing
the payment as soon as possible.
-
Once the Registration Form is successfully submitted, Team Managers will automatically get emailed a link to
confirm their event authorization (see Team Management section above). They
can get started right away, regardless of payment method — that is, it is not necessary to have received
payment, such as a check or PO, in order to begin.
- Have fun! ... and, of course, contact us at anytime with questions, etc.
